Mario Marenco Sapporo Dining table for Mobil Girgi Italy 1970s
Nice Sapporo dining table in Walnut wood by the Italian designer and actor Mario Marenco (1933-2019), featuring a high-level of craftsmanship in woodwork. A solid walnut design featuring a beautiful grain, with beveled edges which add refinement and elegance. The tilted legs are not directly connected to the table, but secured to a bar, which support the top, where the tabletop seems to float. This statement piece will bring character in any room!
Mario Marenco was born in 1933. He studied architecture in Naples and won research grants for Stockholm and Chicago. In 1960 he opened in Rome his own atelier of architecture and design named Studio DEGW in Rome. During his career as an architect, he taught at the University of Sydney and worked with companies such as B&B, Arflex and Poltrana Frau. Mario Marenco is also known for his appearances on TV but his career as an actor and humorist has never overshadowed his predisposition for design.
